Day 94
Got to see a bunch of old college friends and their band 'Tender Branson'.
They don't have any recordings I can link you too, but I can promise they're great and that my word is good enough, I'm sure.
Lots of photography gigs coming my way this weekend. Stay tuned.
Also, just bought a fisheye camera. Should be fun stuff ehhhh?

Day 93
Did a photoshoot with a friend of mine today for her music.
Check out her stuff!!!
Day 92
According to this blog, my boyfriend either:
1. Doesn't have a face, or
2. Has some horrible disfigurement that he doesn't want to share with my camera.
I'll never tell.

Day 91
I made a blanket fortress in the middle of my boyfriend's living room. Then we hung out in it and played video games, drank wine, and ate food. Night well spent, I'd say.

Day 90
Had a photo gig today with a band called "The Torres Band"
You guys can 'like' them here on Facebook and give 'em a listen!

What a great day!

Day 89
Short on money but long on time

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Day 87
I got a good photography gig with a city newspaper today. It's on a volunteer basis, but it gets my ass into music shows for free.
So cheers to you guys...with my kitten mug.
p.s, why is my house so goddamn cold?!

Day 86
This is Salami the rat, owned by my friend. These photos would not have been taken had her Snake 'Poptarts' decided that yes, he would like to eat him. What a turn of events.

Day 85
Persistence pays off, my friends. So does yelling at your computer.

Monday, March 21, 2011

Hey guys! I've got a couple posts for ya, but the blogger photo uploading tool doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I'll keep ya updated!

*UPDATE* The photo uploader is still on the fritz guys. This is getting frustrating!

Day 84
Tonight (Saturday, March 19th) because of some weird funky moon orbital pattern, the moon will be closest to the Earth that it's been in over 18 years. So if you're sitting at your computer reading this, GET OUT SIDE...to look at it.
I'll take more photos when it's more visible. My lens isn't a very good moon-photo-taking piece of equipment.
Day 83
Hung out with an old high school friend of mine. She's in an earlier blog post as well. She lives here in Kingston  for school which is why I originally moved here. Now I'm just here to survive.
I also made a pact with myself last night that I would spend more time in the park near my house. It's beautiful at night time.

Day 82
March 17th: St. Patrick's Day
Green beer, green dogs, green hair, green hangover.
This night was fun
Day 81
I got a gig to photograph this show. The photos ended up turning out great and I had an awesome time with some great musicians I haven't had the chance to see in a while!
The headlining band was called 'Far From Venus'.
If you wanna give 'em a listen, check them out here:

Here is a music video by Chris (the guy in the red plaid) as well!

Day 80
I had to leave Cornwall today to return to Kingston. But before I did, I went and visited my Aunt and Uncle, and their 4 kids.
My Aunt is a brilliant visual artist, and she asked me to photograph her painting portfolio for her. These are just some of the  pieces I photographed for her. But, if you'd like to see more, please visit her Facebook fanpage and become a fan of it!

Also, stay tuned for some photos from an show event I'm photographing tonight! Hooray for getting paid to see and photograph live music!

As I hope most of you aware, on Friday 11th 2011, an earthquake happened off the coast of Japan, causing a tsunami. It is estimated that there about 10,000 people dead, or missing. Evacuation shelters are currently experiencing shortages of water, food and other survival necessities.
As a Canadian, I'm urging fellow Canadians to do what they can to help. If you're a Spring Cleaning follower that is from out of Canada, I urge you to Google what you can do to help.
Here is what I intend on doing, and here is what you other Canadians can do:
"Canadian aid groups are accepting donations via text message for relief efforts in Japan.
Making a micro-donation to help the response to the massive earthquake and tsunami is as simple as pulling out your mobile phone and doing the following:
• Texting “ASIA” to 30333 to donate $5 to the Canadian Red Cross.
• Texting “QUAKE” to 45678 to donate $10 to the Salvation Army.
• Texting “GIVE” to 45678 to donate $5 to the UNICEF.
According to the Mobile Giving Foundation Canada, this service is available to Bell, Fido, Koodo, Rogers, Telus, Solo, and Virgin Mobile customers.
To make your donation count, you must reply to a confirmation message.
Donations show up as one-time charges on your next cellphone bill."

Do what you can. Sacrifice 5 dollars that you might spend on a luxury. It's worth it.
Day 79
I surprised my family today. My friend drove down to Cornwall (my hometown). That's her dog on the top left. That's a road-trip essential on the top right. And the rest is my 6 month old twin niece and nephew. And my three year old nephew posing with our rocket ship we built. These kids make me forget about everything bad in the world.
Day 78
Me and the boy playing my uke. We're pretty cool.

Day 77
Old picture that my friend sent me of us. These are two hometown friends that live in Kingston too. When we get together, it's like being back in my hometown.

Day 76
My friend, the gnomophobe. He's a good guitar player, and I love his cats.

This photo was taken lastnight. It was taken during my first trip to Smoke's Poutinery.
I was waiting in line with my boyfriend, and noticed there was a smear of blood on the wall, so I was going to take a picture. These 5 probably drunk guys begged me to take a photo of them, saying "take a picture of me and the boys! take a picture of me and the boys"
So here is the boys, everyone. I don't know their names, never got their contact info and now they have a guest appearance on some random girl's blog.

Day 75
Take advantages of the fine things in life. Don't let anyone tell you that you're being destructive. There is nothing wrong with feeling straight out good as long as you're not masking any deeper problems.
Do what you want to do, not what you think will please others.

Day 74
Remember that picture I made for a friend to cheer him up? Well he got it made onto a t-shirt. I am proud.
It got me thinking a little about art appreciation. Obviously he liked it enough to wear it on him and I'm actually flattered.
I feel that art work is not praised often when it is deserving of it. And I'm not talking about me, necessarily.
Recently, I had a few guys who I really look up to, come out and compliment me on what I'm doing with this project. And they were actually extremely sincere compliments. It really meant a lot to me. So after you're finished reading this post, I want you to go and compliment someone on their art work. It can be me, it can be another friend, or it can be a complete stranger.
A lot of artists create art for expression of their feelings. And that's for themselves. But when they choose to share it online, it's because they want other people to enjoy it, or be affected by it too.
So get at it, boys and girls. We're doing this for you.

Day 73
The day my friend introduced me to the Tim Tam Slam. My life will never be the same.
If you don't know what it is, then I suggest you google it.

here:

Day 72
The little napkin man. Look. He's a man...made out of napkin.

Day 71
My one roommate has made me a smoothie for the 3rd day in a row today. My other roommate broke my mirror and now has 7 years of bad luck.

Day 70
Get silly. Life is too serious anyways.

Saturday, March 5, 2011

Day 69
My house.
Love seat, you get no love.
Day 68
My friends gave me this book as a gift when we met up for pints at the bar. If anybody knows me at all, they know that this book and me were meant to be together.
So far my favorite is "Fuck Waffle".

Day 67
As promised, here is your third post for the day with 5 minutes to spare. I decided to clean up my computer because there is only 10 gigs of memory left on the hard drive. This is a photo I took during a band shoot last summer. I completely forgot about it and chuckled when I stumbled on it again. I got that fish specifically for that photo shoot. I just thought the photo shoot needed a fish bowl in it. My thoughts don't always make sense, but I try to work them out.
Day 66
My boyfriend and I had drinks with a friend. Played board games and guitar. Good god...still sounds weird to say that.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. I have a job interview Friday...finally. It's weird how everything starts to look up all at once. Very weird.

I played scattergories for the first time. The letter was D. The question was, "Things that fly in the air".
My Answer: Dementors.

Day 65

So you guys are getting three posts today. This I promise you. I've fallen a little bit behind on posting, but not picture taking/art making at least. I made this for my friend who is going through his breakup. It makes him laugh when I call him Kingston's notorious gnome killer. See a couple posts below to get the info on that if you're curious.
